Launch of the Northern Eye

An exciting day here in Newcastle celebrating the opening of the Northern Eye — a new 100 kV cryo-EM microscope and a great resource for structural biologists across the North East.

I also had the pleasure of speaking in the afternoon session, on the intrinsic flexibility of the mycobacterial Type VII secretion central pore and its role in substrate translocation.
